Amanda surprised me with a trip to New York for my birthday.

I found out about the trip around November and I was very surprised. So I thought I would surprise her as well. I knew I wanted to propose on a trip I just wasn’t sure where until I found out we were going to New York. I had never been and have no real ties to the city but I knew it would catch her by surprise.

I had a plan going into it that I was for sure going to ask in Central Park, but day of plans changed and I had to be flexible to keep the secret. So I changed the “spot” last minute to battery park, that has a view of the Statue of Liberty. We both love America and take a lot of pride in being American. I knew this was the best spot for me to propose.

I got down on my knee and could only muster to say, “Amanda I love you, will you marry me.” She was shocked literally in disbelief she of course said yes after about three minutes of squealing and saying “is this real, is that ring real?!” She loves the ring and Mark’s diamonds made it so easy to find the perfect one. I felt like I was part of the family. I am highly suggesting all my friends go there, they made our special moment perfect. -Even though it was gloomy and rainy, the ring was enough to brighten the city.
