“We walked up to Piazzale Michelangelo to watch the sunset with a bottle of wine and our family. When we lived in Florence three years ago, we would always go to this spot to escape the bustle of the city and look out at the beauty of our temporary home.
Once we had reached the top and the sun started its descent, I told Makenna that we should take a photo in front of the city skyline. After we did, I pulled her back and asked her to spend the rest of her life with me. She said she would, and then we went to our favorite restaurant in the city to celebrate.
